BIRMINGHAM REPERTORY THEATRE

Finalists for the 'Illuminated Sign' of the Year - 2023 Sign Awards

THE RESULT.

The sign, now visible on the Birmingham skyline, was supported by a steel framework, powder-coated to match louvres and concrete behind. With the inborn safety implications of such a large sign, the sign was anchored into the existing concrete roof.

Spanning over 6 meter in width made the project technically demanding, as access was limited to secure the sign to the top of the building. Safety and planning were vital at every stage of the project. The installation of the structural steelwork was lifted into place in sections, during the night with low pedestrian traffic times, to minimise disruption..

THE CHALLENGE.

DMA Signs Limited recently completed a highly complex and technically demanding project to manufacture and install a layered bronze CNC cut illuminated logo to the front entrance elevation of The Rep theatre in Birmingham.

The project involved installing individual letter shapes, with each layer to be stood off from one another, with integrated LED perimeter illumination to each layer letter form.
