THE RESULT.

We worked in co-operation with the Gallery’s internal Creative Studio to generate large graphic images, title walls, 3D text and vinyl graphics. The key outstanding feature was the accuracy of reproduction, utilising the latest Durst fine art inkjet digital print technology and the latest ‘Greenguard’ certified inks. One of our key challenges was to accurately reproduce the artists painting in large format, trying to stay as true as possible to the original works. Test prints and lot of colour correction was required to achieve the most accurate reproduction of the Dutch Master’s original painting.

THE CHALLENGE.

In 2020 the National Gallery staged the first-ever monographic exhibition devoted to Nicolaes Maes in the UK. To complement the artworks of the Dutch Master, large format digitally printed graphic panels were produced, as well as fret-cut lettering and high-grab vinyl messaging, charting the career of one of the most successful artists and astute businessmen of the period. DMA Signs were commissioned by the National Gallery to design the exhibition graphics and produce the wide format prints and signage, including installation.
